Interview What is your definition of success? My mother taught me that everyone has the ability to imagine the type of life they'd like to lead. Success, however, is having the integrity and courage to create it - no matter what obstacles come your way. I feel successful when I operate with integrity. I feel successful when I use my experiences and talents to make a positive impact on this world. Most of all, I feel successful when I strive for the impossible and find a way to make it happen. I'm not sure my mother knew how powerful her words were to me as a child. So thank you mom - I owe many of my accomplishments to you! Who do you admire professionally and personally? Oprah Winfrey - no question. She's an incredibly smart businesswoman who chooses to use her talents and power to positively influence society time and time again. By vertically integrating her businesses, she's created a life where she's able to support herself, pursue her true passions, and inspire others in the process. My approach to strategic consulting begins with in-depth interviewing. On a daily basis, I uncover "taboo subjects" people struggle with, but are afraid to discuss openly with others. Oprah has mastered the ability to speak freely on national television about these very topics that are the truth of our culture; unarguably one of the most powerful gifts anyone can give to the masses. Honestly, if someone offered me the opportunity to be the next Oprah, I'd do it in a heartbeat. She embodies my definition of success. What did you learn from the last season of the Apprentice? #1: there's definitely a line where "women using sex to sell" becomes offensive. #2: nobody can find the darn line. What has been your biggest challenge in the pursuit of your career goals? I have a very strong creative side and a very strong logical side. My biggest career challenge has always been finding something that best combines my passion for creativity with my business skills. While I love to strategize and crunch numbers, I've also been performing since I was 4 and started directing in my 20s. I recently created a division of Pulse40 that combines techniques from psychology, interviewing, art, and market research to create ideal experiences for products, marketing, and entertainment. I'm hoping it transforms the creative development process, and becomes my perfect blend of art and science. If you had a super power, what would it be and why? An irresistible power of persuasion - so I never have to pull out the miniskirt.
