Interview What's your definition of Success? They often say that, "Success should be measured by what you had to give up to achieve it." Well, that's nice and sweet. However, I believe "Success is measured by what you did not have to give up while you had fun with life and did everything you wanted to do with as little sacrifice as possible." Why live in the middle of life. Live on the extremes. That's Passion..that's Success! Who do admire both personally and professionally? Personally, my Mother. As a single parent, she showed me how to be independent and to always pursue my dreams. She has the biggest heart on the planet. Professionally, Donald Trump--He is brilliant, a genius, a mastermind and King of New York. What did you learn from the last season of The Apprentice? I learned that in business one is not always judged on merit and performance. In this game, if you are able to form alliances and convince weaker minded people of your agenda you can influence Trumps decisions in the Boardroom. What has been your biggest challenge in the pursuit of your career goals? Being an African-American and a female places me in a very unique situation. Even though I received my education from 2 of the top schools in the nation and I am very articulate, I am still considered a double-minority. As a result, something as simple as obtaining business loans, mortgages and negotiating business deals has always been a challenge. But, I believe what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. So, I am always up for the challenge. If you had a super power, what would it be and why? I would choose the ability to Level the Playing Field for humanity. What I mean by that is...the complete elimination of poverty. I would do this because life is precious, it should be treasured and enjoyed to the utmost by all mankind. Everyone deserves the right to be healthy and happy. |
