Rocco's Life
Rocco DiSpirito is a 1986 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and presently executive chef and a partner at Union Pacific in Manhattan. After graduating from the CIA, DiSpirito studied at the Jardin de Cygne in Paris, focusing on French regional foods and wines before returning to New York. He has been affiliated with several New York restaurants including Adrienne, Lespinasse, and Dava Restaurant. Back in 1994, Rocco DiSpirito had been cooking for all of five days at his first gig as chef in a restaurant called Annabelle. He opened Dava as executive chef in 1995 before the 1997 launch of Union Pacific.
In 1999, DiSpirito was named one of the 10 "Best New Chefs" in the United States by Food & Wine Magazine.
AFTER SEASON 2 -UPDATES
One recent afternoon, he became so incensed at a manager who refused to send a busboy to his office with a bottle of water that he wound up in what he called "a bit of a shoving situation," after which the police were called. According to sworn affidavits, DiSpirito screamed, "If you set foot in my restaurant again, you are a fucking dead man . . . I am going to fucking kill you.'' -exert from New York Metro
Rocco has broken up with Yvonne Scio, the sexy Italian actress who made it through the show's second season.
Recent news had Rocco get a court order by a judge to be allowed to get back in the Restaurant to take pictures for his new book:
"Rocco's Italian American Cooking". This would mean he was banned by Jeffrey's: China Grill Management who wanted the Restaurant for themselves and get back the money Rocco stole from them. Will we ever get a season 3 to find out what happened or will Rocco and Jeffrey end up in court afterall. You should always check out the links for future updates.
